Exact Audio Copy (EAC)
Exact Audio Copy is a so called audio grabber for audio CDs using standard CD and DVD-ROM drives. The main differences between EAC and most other audio grabbers are :
- It is free (for non-commercial purposes)
- It works with a technology, which reads audio CDs almost perfectly. If there are any errors that can’t be corrected, it will tell you on which time position the (possible) distortion occurred, so you could easily control it with e.g. the media player
With other audio grabbers you usually need to listen to every grabbed wave because they only do jitter correction. Scratched CDs read on CD-ROM drives often produce distortions. But listening to every extracted audio track is a waste of time. Exact Audio Copy conquer these problems by making use of several technologies like multi-reading with verify and AccurateRip.
Installation
Lame
Download Lame's windows binaries at http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php or directly lame3.98.2.zip
To install Lame, unzip inside “c:\program files” or “c:\program files (x86)” for Windows 64bits.

Download the latest version of EAC : http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/index.php/resources/download/.
Installation is quite simple, click “next” :

Click “next” :
EAC will then search for Lame binaries on the hard disk. It's possible to let it search or select the position manually.
To submit freedb info, an valid email need to be selected :

To improve the encoding, it's better to disable the cache option of the CD player.

The following screenshots show how to configure a 192kbits/s framerate and tag personnalisation :
The commandline options ”-h -m s -b 192 %s %d” indicates :
- -h : high quality
- -m s : full stereo
- -b 192 : 192kbits/s
- %s %d : source, destination (mandatory)
Note : disable Wav deteltion to reuse them.
